El mes de noviembre de 1990, fue el primer \u201cMes Nacional de la Herencia Ind\u00edgena Estadounidense\u201d el cual fue un esfuerzo que fue aprobado por el Presidente George H. W. Bush. Todos los a\u00f1os, desde 1994, noviembre ha sido declarado Mes de la Herencia Ind\u00edgena Estadounidense (en diferentes variaciones del nombre).<\/p>\n<p>El Mes de la Herencia Ind\u00edgena Estadounidense, no fue una idea nueva en la d\u00e9cada de 1990. El Dr. Arthur C. Parker, un hombre de S\u00e9neca, quien fue el director del Museo de Artes y Ciencias en Rochester, Nueva York, fue una de las primeras personas en impulsar el reconocimiento de la presencia y la historia de los ind\u00edgenas estadounidenses.
