15 a\u00f1os de experiencia en gesti\u00f3n de eventos, artes culinarias y la industria alimentaria, dos t\u00edtulos AAS, uno en artes culinarias y otro en panader\u00eda y pasteler\u00eda, y propietaria de una peque\u00f1a empresa local desde 2013, especializado en servicios de catering y eventos privados.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

P: Por favor describa donde trabaja y su ocupaci\u00f3n<\/b><\/h4>\n

Trabajo para el colegio superior Linn Benton Community College como docente de tiempo completo para el departamento de artes culinarias.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: En cuanto a su carrera, \u00bfcu\u00e1les han sido sus momentos m\u00e1s destacados\/logros hasta ahora?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Mirando hacia atr\u00e1s, administrar mi primer restaurante fue un gran punto culminante de mi carrera, era joven y no vi todo el potencial y la oportunidad all\u00ed, pero fue una gran experiencia de aprendizaje que me ha beneficiado a lo largo de mi carrera desde entonces.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: \u00bfCu\u00e1les son algunas de sus metas futuras o cosas que le gustar\u00eda lograr?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Me gustar\u00eda obtener la certificaci\u00f3n de ACF, obtener la acreditaci\u00f3n de ACF para el departamento de artes culinarias, hacer crecer mi negocio con seguridad y simplemente aprender y explorar m\u00e1s sobre lo que mi campo tiene para ofrecer.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: \u00bfCu\u00e1les han sido algunos de los mayores desaf\u00edos de su carrera?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Definitivamente, a mi edad, mucha gente, particularmente en la gerencia, mirar\u00e1 a una persona m\u00e1s joven al pie de la letra y desacreditar\u00e1 sus habilidades y experiencia sin darle la oportunidad de mostrar esas habilidades o abogar por su experiencia. Tengo 27 a\u00f1os, ya he logrado 15 a\u00f1os exitosos en mi carrera y obtuve un trabajo en el que la mayor\u00eda de la gente espera jubilarse, para m\u00ed eso es como, puedo esforzarme, y luego, \u00bfqu\u00e9 sigue? Tenemos m\u00e1s trabajo por hacer y m\u00e1s metas por cumplir.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: Es posible que muchas mujeres j\u00f3venes no est\u00e9n al tanto de las carreras disponibles en los campos STEM. \u00bfQu\u00e9 cree que se puede hacer para correr la voz entre las mujeres sobre las opciones de carreras en estos campos?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Solo hablando de eso, estuve trabajando en la industria durante a\u00f1os y realmente no sab\u00eda que pod\u00eda hacer algo m\u00e1s hasta que alguien me pregunt\u00f3, \u00bfplaneas ir a la escuela culinaria? Nunca lo hab\u00eda considerado seriamente, estaba planeando ir a la escuela de enfermer\u00eda, porque eso era lo que hab\u00eda que hacer, pero me encantaba cocinar y quer\u00eda seguir ese camino y todos dec\u00edan, no ganar\u00e1s dinero, ser\u00e1s un artista muerto de hambre. Hasta que comenc\u00e9 a exponerme y buscar informaci\u00f3n, nunca supe lo que era posible. Hay que hacer que esa informaci\u00f3n est\u00e9 m\u00e1s disponible.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: \u00bfTiene alg\u00fan consejo para las mujeres que buscan seguir una carrera profesional similar?<\/b><\/h4>\n

An\u00edmense, hagan preguntas, busquen informaci\u00f3n y mant\u00e9nganse firmes. Es una carrera exigente, pero vale la pena.<\/span><\/p>\n

P: \u00bfQu\u00e9 le gusta hacer para divertirse en su tiempo libre?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Soy una socorrista voluntaria y me estoy entrenando para ser bombero, por lo que consume mucho de mi tiempo libre, aparte de eso, solo paso tiempo con mi familia y nos gusta ir a pescar, acampar y todas las actividades al aire libre.<\/span><\/p>\n
