The Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub stands with our partners at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and people everywhere in grieving with the Asian and Asian American community over the appalling shootings that took the lives of eight people, six of whom were women of Asian descent. These killings have taken place amid an alarming rise nationwide in harassment and violence targeting people of Asian descent.

We wish to express our strong, unwavering support for the Asian and Asian American communities. We share ODE’s vision that each and every student, family, and educator’s well-being, ways of being, and experience is valued. We stand with them and all of our education, community, and business partners and pledge to continue to devote ourselves to upholding the values of diversity, racial justice, and equity in the hopes of building a stronger and prosperous community for all who live in it.
