Career Connected Learning

Career Connected Learning (CCL) is a framework of career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training. Career learning develops over the course of one's lifetime. To support this process, CCL ensures purposeful instruction and engages diverse communities in building collaborative, community-driven learning. CCL connects the interests, aptitudes, education, and goals of every Oregon youth to their future.

How can the Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub help?

We are growing our own CCL offerings for students and educators. We are just getting started and will eventually expand these throughout Linn and Benton Counties.

Micro-internships: Tour a variety of healthcare facilities and training centers while learning about education, career paths, skills needed, and wages.

Nuestro Futuro: A mentorship program for Latinx youth at Calapooia Middle School in collaboration with Casa Latinos Unidos. This is a STEAM-focused, afterschool program.

Educator Externships: Tour local businesses and industries to learn about diverse paths to employment that can be shared with students and families.

We can also help by:

  • Connecting employers, educators, and community organizations for collaborative partnerships
  • Supporting the planning or implementation of events, such as career fairs
  • Coordinating training experiences, such as internships
  • Sharing resources and consulting on program design
  • Supporting educators in building CCL activities into the classroom
