Please describe where you work & your occupation

CEO – Koke New Century Companies (QSL Print Communications, Instaprint & TechnaPrint), a family-owned printing company located in Springfield, Oregon.

Career-wise, what have been your proudest moments/highlights/accomplishments so far?

I’m a 4th generation family business leader and keeping all staff employed through COVID.

What are some of your future goals or things you would like to accomplish?

Implement new technology to further improve our craft, which can be quite manual. I’d also like to be a mentor.

What have been some of your biggest career challenges?

Figuring out that I can’t do it all by myself. Learning to trust and delegate. Protecting my peace.

Many young women might not be aware of the careers available in STEM fields. What can be done to spread the word to women about career options in these fields?

Role models who break these stereotypes are encouraging and a better effort when children are young to introduce these as rewarding and attainable careers. Also, the reality is that the majority of reproductive burdens fall on women. Providing support for women during childbearing years so our careers don’t suffer would be a big boost.

Do you have any advice for women who are looking to follow in a similar career path?

Create a strong support system, and find your tribe. Be open to learning in all phases of life. Spend time learning how you’re wired and work to develop your weaknesses. Be thankful!

What do you like to do for fun in your spare time?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends; golf; explore; recharge.
