December 7, 2024 – With generous funding from our region’s Early Learning Hub, we teamed up with our friends from the Oregon Coast STEM Hub and Child Care Resources and Referrals to co-host an in-person Quirkles Training event at Linn-Benton Community College’s Albany campus.

Quirkles, an innovative STEAM curriculum for early learners, combines scientific concepts with phonetic reading strategies, making it a valuable educational tool that promotes both science education and literacy skills.

Oscar Juarez of the Oregon Coast Community College facilitated the event, leading the 17 participants through a variety of Quirkles-based science experiments.  The Quirkles-center training was designed by Juarez to empower early-learning educators to be able to incorporate Quirkles curriculum into their classrooms and bring science to children in a way that are hands-on, engaging, and accessible to preschool learners.

The morning flew by as the training session was filled with laughter and collaboration. Educators were gifted with a Quirkles Teacher’s Guide and a classroom set of Quirkles books for their students.

Feel like you missed out on all the fun? Not to worry! Two more Quirkles training sessions are being scheduled for this school year. Keep an eye out for more, we will be promoting the upcoming Quirkles events as their dates and locations solidify.

We hope to see you there!
