March Tap Talk
March 2, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

March Tap Talk: Coastal Pollution, It’s Not Just the Microplastics
Pollutants along our coasts and in our estuaries have been a concern for decades, and although awareness of the problem has increased, particularly due to raised awareness of microplastic pollution, contaminants are present across water, organisms, and sediments. Additionally, global climate change is altering the habitats organisms that are sensitive to pollutants inhabit, sometimes making them more likely to experience negative impacts. The next tap talk will focus on pollutants along the coast, covering everything from pesticides to microplastics, as well as potential steps forward and solutions to protect these critical natural areas.
Register here, and we will email you the event link in the days leading up to the Tap Talk.
About the speakers:
Sara Hutton, Dr. Samreen Siddiqui, and Dr. Susanne Brander of the Ecotoxicology and Environmental Stress Lab (Brander lab) in the OSU Fisheries and Wildlife Department
