Mobile Makerspace – Monroe Art in the Park

~~Suncatchers and leather bookmarks!~~

Suncatchers: Participants will explore scientific concepts related to light, wavelengths, and what color is. They will use this understanding to guide their creativity, while also practicing their mathematical skills in the measurement and design of their suncatcher. All of this will combine in the creation of their suncatcher, helping them to develop skills in several areas.

Leather Making: Leather Making, participants will engage in a hands-on project designing and creating their own leather bookmark. We will learn how to use technology and equipment for finishing touches and decorations, and discover how leather is used by indigenous people in sustainable ways. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to apply knowledge from various fields in a practical, creative context.
