Tap Talks speaker Lauren Diaz takes the stage to talk about “Raising Hell in Appalachia: Restoring Streams to Conserve Hellbenders”.
Hellbenders are a very unique species of giant salamander native to streams in the eastern U.S., and are unfortunately in severe decline due to habitat loss. There are many creative ways biologists are working to conserve them, and conserving habitat for hellbenders ensures the preservation of stream biodiversity.
