Parent/Guardian SUPERVISION REQUIRED FOR ALL AT-HOME ACTIVITIES
Participants will be able to register for one of four activity pairs. Activities change yearly, but the pairs listed below are good examples of the types of activities you will find at DSW. (Activities listed are for DSW June 2021)
1A. Sports! Sports! Sports!
Presenters: OSU’s Sports Product Development Club
Ever wonder how cleats were developed? Or Or why a football helmet is the shape that it is? Join us while we teach you how popular sports items are made – and learn to make some yourself!
1B. Hands-on DNA
Presenters: OSU’s Biochemistry and Biophysics Club
If you isolated all the DNA in your body, it would stretch from here to the moon! Within your DNA is the code that makes you, you! Come learn a bit more about it, and make yourself in DNA!
2A. Tinkercad
Presenter: Mike Bailey; OSU Professor; Computer Science
Come learn how to create cool 3D designs on a computer. The best part? You get a 3D copy of your creation! Please make sure your device can access the TinkerCad website (https://www.tinkercad.com) before signing up for this workshop.
2B. Let’s Make Lava Lamps!
Presenters: OSU Honors College Students in STEM Outreach and Service Learning
Come explore chemistry with students from OSU’s Honors College. Get ready for some hands-on fun!
3A. Think like an Animal Scientist!
