The Vastex D-100 is a compact infrared conveyor dryer primarily used to cure screen-printing ink so that a printed design becomes dry, durable, and washable. Instead of manually heating each print, garments travel on an 18-inch-wide conveyor belt beneath an infrared heating element. Belt speed, heat intensity, and heater position can be adjusted for different inks and applications.
After a garment is screen printed, it is placed flat on the moving conveyor. The belt carries it through the heated chamber for the time needed to reach the ink manufacturer's recommended cure temperature. Correct settings depend on the ink, garment, print size, and other factors.
Compatible Materials
The D-100 is designed for curing nonflammable inks (plastisol and water-based) on screen-printed materials. Always follow the ink manufacturer's curing specifications and your makerspace's approved-material guidelines.
Before You Begin
The dryer operates at high temperatures. Do not touch the heater or drying chamber, place objects on top of the dryer, or leave the equipment unattended while operating. Keep loose clothing, hair, and other objects away from the moving conveyor.
Always make sure the conveyor is moving before turning on the heat. If a garment becomes jammed, or you notice unusual noise, odors, or smoke, shut down the equipment.
